On the first day of arrival, I was greeted by a local committee member at the airport, who showed me various things, such as how to buy and use the transport tickets, popular landmarks in the city and also took me to my accommodation. The Following day, I started the internship at the University of TU Berlin, where they introduced me to their field of research and the work that I would be doing during the following two months. Rather than being fixed on the same task, I had a number of different interesting tasks throughout the internship, which helped me gain more knowledge as an engineering student. One such task included scanning a 3D printed models (one of which shown in picture A) using the universities scanning apparatus. I spent my free time roaming around the city and visiting famous landmarks in Berlin such as the Brandenburg Gate and Alexanderplatz.
Throughout the two months, I have also visited Dresden (shown in picture C) and Potsdam. Many nights in Berlin were well spent with other IAESTE interns and members enjoying some German beers at bars or nearside rivers. This experience was, without a doubt, a great one, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for both work and travel experience.
