The Maltese Islands have also become a hub for the clubbing scene. Internationally renowned DJs appear (Paul Oakenfold, Erick Morillo, Magda, Tiesto, Van Heill) for guest weekends throughout the year. Malta nightlife is filled with many great clubs and the Maltese nightlife is very diverse.
Paceville and St. Julian’s are known as the nightlife capitals. Recommended pubs in Paceville are Nordic, Havana, Footloose, Bacco, Bar Native and Anvil. For live music there is BJs in Paceville, Artisan Market in Baystreet and Rookie’s in Bugibba. Popular Irish pubs known are Cork’s, Long Hall Pub and The Dubliner. Most places remain open till the early hours of the morning.
Mostly known for its G7 events on Fridays, Gianpula Fields also offer a variety of parties during the summer. Some special events include international DJ`s such as Deadmau5, Avici, Alesso etc..
Since 2009, our humble little island has been hosting one of the biggest music events in Europe, Isle of MTV. Popular and upcoming artists are invited each year, and each year sports a fantastic lineup. Previous artists at this event include Enrique Iglesias, Lady Gaga, Snoop Dog, David Guetta, Jessie J and Rita Ora. The open air concert is held in the large square known as Il-Fosos in Furjana. Oh, and did we mention the event is completely free?
